£7,000 raised for charity

Cheques were recently presented by staff at Okehampton following the two night charity fashion show held last October totalling £7.500.

Both CLIC Sargent, the charity who care for children and young people with cancer and their families, and the BBC Radio Devon Air Ambulance Appeal, who achieved their target to raise £600,000 for a new air ambulance, received cheques for £3,500 each.

It was the combination of efforts from Mole Avon staff, suppliers, friends, families and the local community which made this such a successful event and the money raised exceeded our best expectations. Our thanks go to everyone who has been involved

OBE for Chairman
We are delighted that John Lee, our Chairman of the Board, has been awarded an OBE in the New Year's Honours List.

John, a beef and cereal farmer from Crediton, who has been Chairman of Mole Avon Trading for the past 17 years, said "I am highly honoured and truly surprised to have received such recognition for activities that have been such a normal part of my life. It has been a real pleasure to have been involved in so many organisations that have brought benefit to the rural community."

We are pleased that his support and commitment to a number of organisations over the years including Bicton College, the Federation of Young Farmers' Clubs, Devon County Agricultural Association and FACE has been acknowledged in this way. We are sure that many of our customers would join with all the staff in congratulating him on this honour.
